A website dedicated exclusively to Brazilian Wines produced by The Wine Academy
Project will dedicate to the National Wine Industry an electronic space with varied information
Produced by the Wine Academy with support from the Winery Community, the Brazilian Wine Website www.sitedovinhobrasileiro.com.br) is the most complete set of information ever congregated and published about the national wine industry. Presented in a didactic way and in an accessible language, the website was officially launched last February 2nd at the Fenavinho - National Wine Fair (www.fenavinhobrasil.com.br), the biggest wine industry event in the Country that occurs in Bento Gonçalves, at Serra Gaúcha.
"In Brazil there is a preconception against the consumption of the national product, generated by the unfamiliarity of the public on the subject, what makes, therefore, the institucional spreading of the Brazilian wine sector an urgent necessity", says Carlos Arruda, CEO of the Wine Academy.
To have an idea, the majority of the Brazilians that does not live in producing regions can't name more than five national wineries, although only at Rio Grande do Sul there are more than 500. Thinking about this, the Wine Academy - a very successful wine culture website - took the initiative to create a website that focuses exclusively the wines of Brazil.
With easy and interesting navigation, the website approaches Brazilian visitors with national wine and turn them consumers and spreaders of information about it. The pages will not have heavy animations or images to permit fast navigation, since 90% of Brazilians have dial-up connections.
In its construction, the most modern technology of programming was used (CSS3) so that it can be presented adequately in the diverse browse programs and either compatible with the programs used for disabled people. Moreover, soon the website will have English, French and Spanish versions.
The approach of the website will be the wine, under the optics of the diversity of producing regions, the terroirs, which is the essence of the personality of each label. Through the electronic address, it will be possible to consult:
Brazilian Wine Regions with detailed maps of the producing areas, including Indications of Origin;
History - of the wine regions and its population;
Climatic and Geological facts of regions and Indications;
Grape Growing - cultivated Varieties, methods of culture, planted areas;
Wineries - Othe producers of each region/city, with address, telephone, link for the website (if so), description, photos, localization, cultivated area, varieties and volume of production;

Wine Search - the wines produced in Brazil in an extensive data base for consultation;

The Brazilian Wine Website also publishes Weekly Informative Newsletter about Brazilian Wine, bringing new products, features and tips.
One amazing feature is the Virtual Sommelier that informs a list of the adequate wines and the amount necessary to a party, dinner, or reunion, based on visitor-chosen menu of dishes, type of party and number of guests
A partnership with sales company Vinhos & Vinhos will make possible to internauta to buy on line the wines of the wineries present at the site.
